Crumbling "Isms"
2015-2016

Seldom in our society, life situations are discussed using words that end with "-ism." In fact, in the United States, many people have disdain for such terms, pronouncing them wordy or intellectual. However, these “isms” are ideologies that affect our experiences and are representations of the policies that govern our world and our fate.
Crumbling "Isms" is a selection of complexly interconnected terms that have influenced my life and my experiences of the world. Therefore, the images of crumbled paper, combined with their ambiguous titles, pose the question of whether these ideologies are being discarded (crumbled). Or are they crushing (crumbling) our world? And the answer will rest not only within our psyches and our reflections but also in the collective actions of our generations.
